Senior fitness
For over 3 years, Elite Health Club has offered older Americans fitness classes to improve mobility, increase strength, improve flexibility, and maintain independence. Perhaps most importantly, these classes offer area seniors of social interaction with others in the area, while doing something fun and productive.
The Active Older Adults exercise class, a class supporting the Community Center of Hope, focuses on large muscle resistance training with stretch bands. This class is held at the Community Center of Hope, located in the United Methodist Church on 13th Street in Mosinee. Classes meet Tuesdays & Thursdays at 9:00 am at a cost of $1 or the donation of a non-perishable food item to the Hope Food Pantry.
SilverSneakers® classes offer multi-level, equipment based strength and conditioning exercises designed for Medicare-eligible individuals. The classes are easy on your joints and appropriate for individuals who exercise regularly as well as those new to exercise or who may not have exercised in years. The exercises are designed to improve your strength, flexibility, and the ability to perform functional activities such as getting out of your car or lifting your grandchildren! SilverSneakers® classes are offered Mondays at 8:00 am and Fridays at 3:30 pm at the Elite Health Club facility on 4th Street in Mosinee. SilverSneakers® is available to Humana-enrolled participants at no charge and non-participants for $1 per class.
